To help you sleep.

It turns out that my Dad is not moving to Australia after all. He is going there for 3 months, and then coming back. I was completely un-aware of the coming back part, so I’m rather a bit more joyous now. Three months is a lot better than forever, in my opinion.

I’ve just uploaded some pictures of my haircut , which can be found by using the sidebar. There’s a couple of new ones of Maija and I, like this one…

Shave.

Cut all my hair off last night.

Maija came over and took scissors and a buzzer to my hair, then after some frantic Halo playing at my buddy Sean’s house, I returned home and used a razor to finnish the job.

Pictures should be up tonight. Today I’m getting used to a bald head again. You feel air currents that you normally don’t, and I need to find myself a sleeping hat, or my head gets cold. Other than that, it’s awesome. I can’t believe it’s a whole year since I did it last.

In other news, today is Maija and I’s 2 month anniversary. Big grins all round.

Video games till we throw up

Jacob, Thomas and Jon Long came over today and we played Halo it, with some Peasant’s Quest, and spinning of records thrown in.

Thomas and I tried to do some stuff together, but it was kinda hard, as he hasn’t practiced beatmatching since February. Next time, he’ll bring his laptop, and we’ll try and run some stuff. I’m thinking we’ll run a line out of my effects send, to his laptop, and then a line back in through the effects return, from his laptop, and he can sample stuff live. It’ll be fun.

Tonight we had Chinese delivery, for Mummy’s birthday. Dad’s been over every couple of days since he moved out. It’s still strange, having him leave every night.

He’s moving to Australia in September. We don’t know yet for how long. So that will be interesting. It’s sort of unreal right now. I’m noticing strange trends developing though, since Dad moved out. Damien does nothing but play computer all day and most of the night. He’s being bratty with Elliot too. Elliot is noisier than ever and seems to be wanting attention. I’m becoming more impatient with everyone. Which sucks. I’m trying hard, though getting my own place (with house-mates, naturally) is looking a nicer option every day. I don’t think I’ll actually move out for quite a while, cause I’m perseverant, but we’ll see.

The Friday to end all Fridays

0

Man… what a Friday. By now it’s very early Saturday morning, but I’m really sick and can’t sleep. Not really sick, but sick enough that I can’t sleep.

Today (yesterday) has been one of the most amusing Friday’s of all time. It’s a long weekend here in Canada this weekend, and it just so happened that every department boss was away from work today. And it just so happened that today was our scheduled “The Union” Elimination day. So at any given moment at work today you could have seen the tall and short chasing each other relentlessly across parking lots, jumping fences, or even running inside offices.

The rules of the game stated that you could only be shot outside, or in the main auditorium. Being a maintenance man, I had to work outside today. I was possibly the only person who did not have a choice about being outside. I was removed from the game in some 20 minutes. That however made me a free-agent (in my mind) so I went on raids into people’s offices, soaking them, especially in the crotchal area.

Throughout the day they also dropped in a couple of spot prizes, in order to get people outside. “The Union” leader would send out e-mails to the staff, saying something like “Hotdog stand” and the first person there would receive a prize. Well, being a maintenance man, I don’t have a computer. So it comes as quite a miracle that I managed to win one. I was sitting in Mel’s office, and she made the foolish mistake of reading the e-mail outloud. Last mistake she made that day.

There’s more, but you can read it here. And here. And here.

Today was also my brother Elliot, and my Grandad Bryan’s birthdays. Nana and Papa happen to be here right now, so it was a fun evening spent at Tucker’s Marketplace (used to be called Mother Tuckers, hahahah, foolish).

Pound your Senses

The title of a record of mine that I’m listening to right now.

Anyway, my grandparents arrived last night from New Zealand. They’ll be staying for a month, so we’re all quite excited and glad to have them here. I haven’t seen them in almost 2 years.

I’m hoping to see The Bourne Supremacy tonight.

After today

I’ll dream a bigger dream for, a bigger dream for, today.

Trying to anyway. Right now I’m getting ready to dream some sleepy dreams. Just got in from work, almost 2am. Last of another conference. The Party is Here. Or the Puddy is Here, as some were inclined to joke.
What an exhausting night.
Made worse by the fact that I was looking forward to seeing Maija, but she could not make it. She faithfully left a message on my work phone to let me know, but my bastard phone couldn’t extend the same kindness to let me know that a message had arrived. So only when I called her myself, wondering where she was, did I find out the truth. Then I checked my phone manually, still “0 Messages,” only after I dialed up the silly thing did it actually give me two messages in fact. Trust me, it was all I could do not to through the phone at the floor with great gusto. Not even kidding.

Anyway, it’s been a decent conference. It’s been rather boring though, with not much work to do, which taxes the brain and body eventually. But, what can you do? Read! I started reading a biography of Sir John Gielgud - very famous British actor – which Dad bought me for my birthday. It’s odd not having him sleep here (Dad, not Monsieur Gielgud). Cause I know he’s around, and not away on some trip… but at the same time, he’s not here. It’s strange. Just plain odd, that’s all.

Anyway, my eyes and feet and buttocks and everything else hurt. I’m going to sleep. Goodnight.

Changes.

My dad moves(d) out today. The parents are doing the “separating” thing. I’ve known about it for a while, but it was still pretty strange today, carrying Dad’s bags out to the car. He’ll still be around, but not living with us.

I’m doing pretty good. Pray for Damien and Elliot (the brothers) and Mummy. They’re doing ok as well, but it will affect them the hardest.

Lychee

0

Mmmm… I ate a lychee tonight. It’s been a very long time since I’ve had any. Probably the strangest fruit I know off.

My foot is getting better, slowly. I’ve been walking on it lots today, due to having to go to work, and it’s taking it alright. Work was very slow today. Spent almost all of it with Lee and Sarah. Fun people.

In other news, I’ve made a few changes to my sidebar, again. Made a new category – “My…”. Enjoy it. Please. Hehe… I recorded myself spinning the other night, and have made it into a track I have titled, “Really Bad Mixtape 2.” If anyone can tell me where I can host it (some 37mb) then I can put a link up here for you all to listen to. It’s great (but also really bad).

Also, the new iPods are out. Wanting one.

Fire Wire

Yesterday had to be one of the best Saturdays I’ve had in a while. And I have good Saturdays.

Maija picked me up around 3 and we went to the Drivers Test office. I passed my G1 written test with flying colours. I’m going to encourage my brother to do it straight away when he turns 16 and not waste time like me. Anyway, yeah, that was cool. Then we drove to York Mills and took the subway downtown to Queen. We walked the streets of Downtown Toronto for the next… 3 hours? It was fun times.

We hit up a few record stores along the way. Metropolis, my usual haunt had changed locations, so we checked out their new place. Snazzy. We went into another one (2 the Beat Records) just around the corner from Metropolis, and they had a record I’ve been searching for for a while to get, so that was awesome. Fire Wire, by Cosmic Gate.

After walking a for a very long time we eventually got back on the subway and then drove home to Maija’s. We went swimming, and then had a late dinner (10pm).

This morning I finally got my act together and began my Sunday morning God time. I stopped going to church on a Sunday morning in order to spent some quiet personal time alone with God, and only today have I actually done so. It’s been really cool. First I listened out my new records and read the Bible. Then played some worship music and soaked for a bit. I feel very peaceful.

I think I might go running tonight. That half marathon is getting closer every day.
