The waiting’s over

Maija and I have both been through a few rough days over the last 2 weeks. We’ve been waiting, with no control, on so many things. It gets tiring having your issues worked on, after all.

Namely we’ve been waiting on her government support money, on our stuff to arrive from Canada, on a refund I’m due from Finnish immigration, and a couple of other things. I’m happy to say they’ve pretty much all sorted themselves out now over this week. Today is an excellent day, as our stuff finally arrived!

So we’re now unpacking things, finding homes for things. We feel More >

Leading worship for the School of Ministry, redux

Ed “The Watchman” King and I had the pleasure of leading worship again for TACF’s School of Ministry again this morning. In contrast to last time, it seemed as if everyone was really into it today.

I had a few conversations with people about it later in the day, as some of the staff members had heard the pounding bass coming through the walls, and had come over to take a look. I think I struck a really great balance this time, regarding knowing when to speak and when to let God work through the music alone. I had prayed this More >

I hope you all had a fun, safe time last night. Maija and I wish you all the best for ’06, and challenge you to go and do something about anything you spend time talking about.

We’re off to Finland tomorrow, until September 5th. I’m rather thrilled about the whole thing.

So, in honour of our absense, I’ve FINALLY encoded and uploaded video evidence that I DID open for Delirious at Freshwind 06. So, if you’re interested in seeing and hearing one J Puddy play 30 minutes of beautiful progressive house to an audience of 2000+, then these are for you:

300k Windows Media 100k Windows Media Play loud.

I shaved my stubble today into a molester moustache. Checkidout…

Opening for Delirious at Freshwind

In case you haven’t heard, I’ve been asked to open for Delirious? at Freshwind 06. How thrilling is that?

Pretty thrilling. That’s how much.

So this Saturday night you should come on out to Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship at 272 Attwell Drive, Toronto, to lap up some sweet sweet progressive trance, followed by the world-renowned musical stylings of Delirious?

Updates – April 1

Mike Livingston pointed out to me that each time he’s visited this website in the last week, there’s been trouble with Islam every day! Who knew! Mike Livingston had an interview for the Univeristy of Toronto MedSchool program. He’s a smart lad. Pray that he gets in.

Bethany Ventura got into the Ontario College of Art & Design (OCAD). She’s thrilled.

Jonathan Puddle paid off his VISAs, but got ripped off by dirty-rotten-turntable-swindlers. A tax refund, and one of two months in the year where I get paid three times both helped in the paying off trip to Finland, and purchasing turntables More >

Live from Mactier, March 2006

New mix!

I spun this on Saturday night up in the wee town of Mactier, Ontario. Please excuse the distortion in some parts, I was recording into an iRiver and couldn’t monitor the level. I also forgot to hit record, so the first track sadly didn’t make it into the mix, and for whatever reason the iRiver stopped recording half way through, so you’ll hear a break in the middle.

There’s a new mix online.

J Puddy – Tracks I Do Not Know

I laid down a fun minimix today by pulling out tracks at random from Ed King’s record box. I played only tracks that I didn’t know as every DJ will tell you never to do.
