The annual New Year’s mix is a little early this year as I’ll be in NZ for New Year’s and am not bringing my gear. But early’s good in this case, cause this mix is a real treat! 2007 has brought us some great music; I just can’t get enough of Joonas Hahmo (2 tracks here, he’s also the guy behind Alt+F4). Special respect should also go to The Chemical Brothers who’s “We Are the Night” album was a highlight of this year for me. I tried to get something of theirs into this mix, but it wasn’t happening.

Dynamite Festival was good. Small cosy space with the right amount of people. Made some good connections; the other DJs were all great guys. I had a terrible time with my shoes… but that’s another story. In the end an ambulance assisted me with some bandages to stop the bleeding.

I spun this on Saturday night up in the wee town of Mactier, Ontario. Please excuse the distortion in some parts, I was recording into an iRiver and couldn’t monitor the level. I also forgot to hit record, so the first track sadly didn’t make it into the mix, and for whatever reason the iRiver stopped recording half way through, so you’ll hear a break in the middle.

I don’t know if I spoke about it then, but back in August DJ Shagz and I spun a set together. He’s a very talented DJ who I met through a Christian DJ community. He predominantly spins a variety of house, and breaks, and whatever takes his fancy at the time.
