I was a bit behind schedule this year in getting my New Years’ mix down. My apologies to all… being a Dad is busy work sometimes. But the mix is ready for your listening pleasure! I chose to feature this mix on the Tastyfresh Homegrown podcast (which I am the host of), so it’s available exclusively from there. There was sooooo much good music this year, it just doesn’t stop!

2 new mixes: Beatitudes Volume 4, Part 1 and 2

We’ve had a pretty busy summer with many visitors, and I realized the other week that I hadn’t even touched my DJing gear since April. Which is a tragedy. Yesterday I finally found some time to spend with my music, and you get to enjoy not 1, but 2 mixes. In the can is Beatitudes Volume 4, and I filled it up to being a 2 part-er.
Get it here. I do hope you enjoy, it’s packed full of awesome trance and prog house. There’s honestly so much good music right now, it’s blowing my mind.
Sencity 2009

I’ll be spinning at Sencity 2009 here in Jyväskylä. I’m seriously looking forward to this gig for a number of reasons. First off, this is my first gig in my (new) home town… so that’s wicked. I haven’t gotten my ass out the door enough since moving here to find any cool clubs… I know they’re here but I’ve never visited them. Fixing that problem :)
Second, I’ll be busting out my Numark Stealth Control, which has turned out to be a lovely piece of hardware. I’ve been playing with lots of different configurations, and have settled on one that works for More >
Traktor midi mappings for Numark Stealth Control

The Numark Stealth Control doesn’t ship with a TKS/TKI file for Traktor3/Traktor Pro. I’m sure an official one will be released at some point, but I’ve got mine working just fine as it is. The only tricky part was the LED mappings, for which you can’t use the regular midi learn feature in Traktor. I just mapped them out manually one by one.

Maija and I have had a lovely Christmas with family in Finland, and then spent a few days with friends. Tonight we’re off to party at a cottage with another bunch of friends, and so I shall wish you a Happy New Years!

Gig: Passionate Heart 08 in Lahti, Nov 22

The good people of Lahti have asked me back to DJ at Passionate Heart 08. It’s an evening of music, dance and community outreach, and this year it will be in their newly renovated facility building, which I hear is great.

I’ve finally finished laying down the next installment of my regular trance and progressive series:
The third installment in my Beatitudes series comes at a slight delay since the others. I’ll blame the summer, and a lazy attitude. Dynamite Festival recap, or Mike’s waiting is over for now

Sorry, I had so much fun in Helsinki that I got a bit sick, and then I had a crazy week of trying to fight a cold and working 16 hour days.
Dynamite Festival was good. Small cosy space with the right amount of people. Made some good connections; the other DJs were all great guys. I had a terrible time with my shoes… but that’s another story. In the end an ambulance assisted me with some bandages to stop the bleeding.
