He’s married to a wonderful Canadian/Finnish girl who’s going to change the world for the better.
J Puddy was born out of a passion for dance music and having a conveniently placed DJ friend. He’s been spinning a blend of trance and progressive music since 2003. In Canada he was a founder of the Toronto Groove Collective, playing many gigs and opening a concert for Delirious in 2006. Since moving to Europe he’s played at the inaugural Dynamite Music festival in Helsinki, among other gigs. He’s also the host of a monthly electronic music podcast, featuring Homegrown talent from the Tastyfresh.com DJ community.
J Puddy.net runs on Wordpress, using the Unwakeable theme, by Tyler Longren. The artwork in the header is by George Smith (Precurser). I use FeedBurner for my main site feed. I use these plugins:
- Akismet spam plugin from Wordpress to keep out the filth
- The All in One SEO Pack and the Google Sitemap XML plugin for search engine optimization
- I use the iCal Events plugin combined with RunPHP to display upcoming events pulled from my Google Calender feed
- The Search Pages plugin to allow you to search within pages, and the Search Meter plugin gives me search stats
- The Static Front Page plugin gives me a front page, and WP-ContactForm provides the contact page
- The flickr RSS plugin pulls the latest images from my flickr account.
On the backend I use MySQL and PHP to run this stuff. During development I used The GIMP to assemble the header and adjust the colours of the theme. Filezilla is my FTP utility of choice. I used PHPMyAdmin, OpenOffice.org Calc, Notepad, and WinMerge to import the data from my old site.
If you can tell me what my favicon is without looking at source, I’ll give you a prize.
