Back Now

0

As I mentioned the other week, I was fed up with my old site. So I made a new one.

As clean and simple as this looks now, you have no idea how difficult it was. Most of the pain was in the fact that WordPress have made some changes to their database structure, so the data in my WordPress/Joomla love-child had to be massaged to fit in here. And that’s no small task when you don’t really know what you’re doing… But here we are. If you’re interested in what I’m using on the new site, head over to About.

I was hoping to have a new mix ready for this relaunch but my turntables and mixer are still on a boat… or in Sweden, or something. So no dice on that.

Hope you enjoy!

J Puddy.net is going to go to sleep for a few days. It’ll be all shiny and new when it wakes up.

Radiohead figures it out

Radiohead are releasing their first album since their original record deal expired. Get this: Choose your own download price. That’s right, Radiohead are offering a download of their new album direct from their website, for a price that you specify. In addition to that, they’re offering a “discbox” for a set price, which includes the download, the album on CD and vinyl, and an additional CD with more songs and other cool stuff.

This is really exciting. In the words of one article:

Funny how it’s the musicians, and not the record labels, who seem to realize that adding value and getting people to pay for it is a business model that beats suing fans.
