Steve Irwin was killed by a stingray earlier today. He was filming for a new TV show, and was stabbed in the heart by a stingray. Something about the words “stabbed in the heart” always makes me giggle… but I’m actually quite sad about this. We used to watch Steve Irwin on TV all the time. He’s done some great things for Australian wildlife, and awareness of animals and the like, but he’s never come across as out-of-touch-with-reality like PETA does.

Ok, I seriously thought you were joking at first, or wrote the title to get people’s attention . . .but I realized you were actually telling the truth.
I’m really sad, I liked Steve, he always seemed like a really nice guy. Stupid Stingray.

One of the guys on a forum I read said he had always thought Steve was actually invincible.
I think that’s why this is so surprising… Death of Superman kindof stuff.
