Xbox 360 vs. PS3

The 360 is already on the market, and the PS3 shall be out some time next year. Most sources are saying Spring… I’m saying June-ish.

By the numbers, the Playstation 3 slightly outshines the new Xbox in most regards. It’s worth noting however that while the Xbox only has 3 proc. cores, they do run two threads each. Also, it’s ironic to note that the 360 is physically smaller than the PS3.

(Care of IGN)

So, I think the choice of games and online playability will make or break these consoles. For your viewing pleasure (care of IGN again), you can now download two trailers for Armored Core 4: one captured from the 360, the other from the PS3.

Download the videos here:

Second video

Scroll down to the first comment and I’ll tell you which vid was from which console. It’s best to view them with an open mind.

    Are you ready?

    Are you sure?

    OK… the first video is… …

    Playstation 3!

And the second one is Xbox 360, by default. I felt there to be no different between the two.

PS3’s bigger than X360? Gosh! I mean cause compared to PS2 and the advances Mikeysoft might have been able to make, that thing’s huge (360, that is). If bigger were better, then why did they get rid of those awesomely massive controllers that used to be what I used to hold as a defining feature of the ‘Box? Of course, beauty is in the ear (well in this case, the hand) of the beholder (or just holder). Heck if bigger were better, then we should all be eating McDonalds….

    hooray for semi-coherency!

Hehehe, classic! I know, I was surprised at how big the 360 is too, considering how much everyone bashed Microsoft for the original Xbrick. And those original controllers are pure garbage. But, practice make’s perfect, and for everything else, there’s Microsoft’s bottomless wallet.

lol I actually saw a used pair for resale at EB the other day. If I run into them again I just might buy them. I dunno I like the unusual feel of them, and I figure my hands are big enough….

Besides if I don’t like them I can always sell them on Ebay or something.

Hey Ebay’s bound to have those big controllers or something. And games. And McChicken Sandwiches with Fries and a Coke….

na, i reckon Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) beats them both hands down. :) what, with fantastic 8bit Graphics, games like Super Mario 3, Duck Hunt and Megaman. Can’t beat it. Looking forward to my brother bringing his back for Christmas - hours of gaming pleasure to be had.

I do enjoy video games, but unfortunatly my attention span is to short to sit for a long time pushing buttons. hmm. I did play SOCOM almost the entire way through. I am quit proud of that.
