Scratch.

Well, I missed Blindside. That annoyed me very much yesterday. Lately I’ve been wanting to go to concerts so badly, but I can never get around to buying a ticket to them. A big part of it is the lack of enthusiasm towards concerts, among my Christian friends here in TO. Back home, whenever a big concert was going on, the whole youth group would organize tickets and everything, and everyone would be there. Everyone…

And couple that with the fact that I’ve been to maybe…1? concert in the city. It means that I don’t know any of the venues, or locations of Ticketmaster, and thus I don’t get a ticket. I also don’t like the fact that tickets can sell out. Tickets should not be able to sell out. You can always… always squeeze more people into the mosh pit.

Oh well. It’s too late anyway. I went to cell instead, and had a good time, as I suspected I would.

Here’s a thought I had a few days ago: “The Bible must be read at truth value, not face value.” There’s many a debate about how one is to read The Bible, and how literal it is, and how metaphoric it is. The trouble with both, but the especially the literal view, is that The Bible was written by multiple authors over a period of 2,000 or so years, and that being at least 1500 years ago. So it’s very difficult to understand the contexts that all the stories were written in, each being different to each other.

So you have to look beyond the words at the point, the truth, behind them.

Somehow my template got deleted. I couldn’t figure out why my blog wasn’t loading… until I checked my template… and it wasn’t there. I’ll try and fix it up soon.

Weak from week

0

Two weeks in fact. We had another conference at work this past week, running straight on from the Todd Bentley Crusade of the previous week. Way too crazy for my liking… you just can’t work that much in two weeks.

The trouble is… almost half of my day is spent doing jack-all. Then the other half of my day is spent busting my ass working really hard. It’s a pain… but it’s a living. The trouble with this week was that I threw my back out on Thursday. I don’t like the term “Threw my back out,” but it has a painful connotation, and painful it was, so it will do. I was “catching” for John and Carol – the process of catching people they are praying for, if and as they fall over under the power of the Holy Spirit. It’s just tricky when you have someone twice as large as you, and they fall over like a huge wailing corpse, and you have to do your best to slow their unstoppable decent to the carpet.

So I busted my back making work incredibly difficult for the next 3 days. Only now, on Monday evening, do I have most of my mobility back. It still hurts, but at least now I can pick stuff up off the ground without having to get down on my knees.

Aside – Speaking of catching… here’s what happens if someone fails at that job: I have to clean blood up out of the carpet when a woman falls and knocks her head against a wall. I’ll fix the dent in the wall next week.

So I had to work Saturday again, due to the conference. We got out about 1am… pretty standard. Then Sunday came and brought with it Mothers’ Day. And – the very first – “Open Studio,” hosted in the Firehall, by Bethany Ventura and Maija MacLeod. It was very very cool, with all kinds of poetry, music, dancing, and works of art on display. Ticket sales went toward two missions trips that are taking place this summer, one to somewhere in England, and the other to Pennsylvania I believe. I Sound-Reinforced the evening. Fun times… stressful, but much fun.

Then of course we had to clean up everything after everyone had left, so that took us until midnight. Then sleep… then up in the morning for work. 20 minutes after I there, my body decided it had had enough, and sent me to the bathroom. After some time on the ceramics, with prayers for healing sent heavenward, I soldiered on. The day turned out to be quite fulfilling, as we got the church all in order from the conference, put everything back where it belongs, and planned the coming weeks. We have a mammoth amount of work ahead of us for the next few months, including the laying of 40K square feet of carpet, half of that in offices which will need to be cleared first and then re-installed.

Tomorrow we are back to the airport, to take apart and transport a shelter of some kind. No one knows exactly what it is, so tomorrow may bring some surprises for us. All we know is that it is huge, and should take 3 of us all day to take apart and remove.

Sounds like fun.

Interesting. As most of you are, I’m now trying to figure out this new Blogger business. Interesting… I think I like it, but I’ll have to make sure first.

First questions are… Post Pages? Are these different to permalinks… cause my permalinks are still active, but I have selected NO to Post Pages… we shall see.

Also, what are the Blogger provided comments like? I can’t be bothered switching to them… Haloscan is nice enough. If someone has switched, tell me if they’re any different.

In other news… my pool opened yesterday so I think I will go swimming tonight. About bloody time.

Oh… and upon spellcheck… I find that my custom dictionary is gone. Ahh well.

Boourns.

It turns out I am Red Hat Linux. I don’t like Linux.

You are Red Hat Linux. You're tops among your peers, but still get no respect from them. It's all right with you. You have your sights set higher.
Which OS are You?

Thanks Jeremy.

Got in and out of L & Q today in under 5 minutes. The dude said that they normally wouldn’t replace a stylus, because it’s an expendable item and will wear out anyway, but because it wore out the day after I bought it, he replaced it for free. He didn’t even ask to see my receipt. Good old L & Q. Haven’t let me down yet.

So I got home and linxed it all up and it works wonderfully. I’m very very excited.

Old school.

I went in to my high school today. Interesting feeling – didn’t really recognize anyone except teachers. I had to drop off a textbook that I borrowed back in September. Hehe… yeah. And I also wanted to check up on my student transcript and see if I could actually graduate now. Luckily… I almost can. I just need to fill out the forms for my community service hours. I have done that already, say 3 years ago, but they didn’t have a system of storing that information, at that time, and so my forms got lost. Or so they say. So no problem, just need some scrawlies and then I’ll be set.

I’m going to Long and McQuade today. At last.
