Tattoo.
0I’m thinking again of getting a tattoo. Or as the young people call it – a tat!
Periodically I have this sudden urge to have some ink carved into my skin. I’ve thrown around ideas of crosses, and necklaces, Stars of David, and text. Today’s thought was, “Dead to sin.” in Hebrew, around my left wrist, say 2 inches from my hand. Then, if I liked what came out, “Alive in Christ.” also in Hebrew, on the other wrist. Same position.
Probably won’t happen. But we’ll see. I really do want a tattoo. Or as the young people call it…
Suleiman!!!
0So have a look at this picture…

Scary. Those were left in a 69 year old woman’s abdomen after an operation. For months! Ouch.
So naturally, I have to assume that Suleiman was the surgeon responsible. That’s where he’s been hiding… Australia!
(I had a class with Suleiman in Grade 9. Pretty level headed guy… he used to wear collared shirts – that’s got to count for something.)
For the critics among you
0Jeremy sums it right up… Why Blog?
Enjoy.
(I had some trouble with this link earlier on, so let me know if it’s not working for you)
Pertinent.
0So the last few days I’ve been a busy man. The church (my employers) bought a whole crap-load of stuff from Toronto Airport’s old Terminal 1, which is in the process of being destroyed. So the rest of the maintenance team, and some lucky guests, and I, have been going to and from the airport in trucks of various sizes with loads of goods. Things like fire-extinguishers, desks, office dividers, posters, stanchions, vending machines… and 40K square feet of carpet.
I imagine we were a pretty funny sight on Monday, going in there with our brand new work boots and hard hats and vests (all mandatory)… and trying to scuff them up so the “real” workmen couldn’t tell we had bought ours 2 hours before. I think we did ok. I must say it was pretty fun walking through all the “Restricted Personnel” areas and having a good eye at the hidden stuff.
And then at home… I’ve been playing with my turntables. Very very cool. The new needles I bought went in great, and were working fine, until one of them broke. It doesn’t appear broken, but it doesn’t work anymore… so, yeah. I’m going to take them back into Long and McQuade. I spent enough on them not for them to just crap out a day after buying them.
And today a record arrived from the UK. One I had just bought of a guy there, “The Drill,” by Dirt Devils. Amazing track. I’m very excited to have it.
That’s why…
0I had a thought a little while ago, and something I said to theken reminded me of it.
Picture the Israelites, wandering the desert, and having to go outside the camp for 7 days every little while until they were cleansed of whatever mildew or dead person they had been in contact with. Now, don’t forget that the Israelite camp was made of some 3 million people, possibly much more, I don’t recall the numbers. That’s a big freakin camp. And even if the nation of Israel was divied up into it’s 12 tribes, you’d still have to get yourself outside a camp of like 10,000 people. Imagine this continuous spread of people as they make their way outside, and then back in, and so on and so forth. No wonder they spent 40 years in the desert.
Ouch.
0Have you ever stapled your finger? I was just sitting here playing with a stapler, and I accidentally pushed it a little too hard, and ended up with a staple in my finger. I pulled it out, naturally, but it really hurts now.
Stupid thing to do. It went in really far!
On the town.
0Today was on the town day. Spending money day. I went with Jon Long down to Long and McQuade, for me to get some needles, and for him to get some effects stuff for his guitar.
I bought some Stanton needles, cost me 75$ (for a pair). Then I ended up buying some headphones as well. Got some Audio Technicas. 69.99$. But they’re good and comfy and sound great.
Then we hit up Metropolis Records and I bought 90$ worth of records. Good times had buy all, hehe, except poor Jon who had to sit there for an hour while I listened to records.
